Toshiba presented this Thursday at the IFA, the largest European electronics fair opens its doors this Friday, its first touchscreen tablet, the Journ Touch, with 7-inch screen. According to information from the website Engadget, the touch-screen multimedia tablet measuring only 14 mm thick and weighs less than 1 kg, with a storage capacity of 1 GB.
The Toshiba machine was widely compared to similar Apple could launch in early 2010 and, according to the CNET site, is clearly a competitive strategy of the Japanese manufacturer.
According to information from the company executives present at the IFA in Berlin, the device is intended to be a third alternative for consumers at home, next to traditional PCs and smartphones.
The tablet is used only to access internet and share files with other devices. The Toshiba's suggested retail price is 250 euros and will be on sale in Europe before the end of the year.
Journ Touch will come with the ARM processor, integrated Wi-Fi and Windows CE installed.
