Japan's Sharp announced Monday a partnership with the China Electronics (CEC) to manufacture LCD TV screens glass substrates eighth generation to meet growing demand from China.
Sharp, who seconded to Samsung Electronics and Sony Corp in LCD TV sales, said it was still in negotiations with CEC and Nanjing City about how much to invest in the venture and production schedule.
The company added that Japan's oldest sell equipment to manufacture LCD screens using smaller glass substrates to a sixth-generation joint venture between CEC unit Panda Group Nanjing China Electronics Corp (CEC Panda) and Nanjing City.
Samsung opens online download store in Europe
The second-largest mobile phone world, announced Monday that on Sept. 14 in Europe will open an online store downloads for smartphones, emulating the popular Apple App Store.
Samsung said in a statement that his store will launch first in UK, France and Italy, and later extended to more than 30 countries such as Spain and Germany.
His store will initially more than 300 applications, including games and social networks, and the list is expected to exceed 2,000 by the end of 2009.
