Fair presents pet robots that sweep and coffee

Among flat panel displays and energy-efficient washing machines in the consumer electronics fair IFA in Berlin and highlights the ingenious devices which aim to simplify design of modern life, but with style.

From products to the mobile personality and ecological or multifunction machines, the manufacturers hope that the fun, accompanied by innovation, tempt customers to part with their money.

Roomba, for example, is part robot and part dog, with the shape of a dish but small enough to squeeze under the couch or bed.

Developed by the American company iRobot, the device has sensors that guide you to go around obstacles while cleaning the floor, whether wood or carpet.

Other luxury models come with "virtual walls", infrared sensors that limit the prohibited areas in different rooms.

"I light up, leave home and when you come back, is parked back in its charger as a faithful pet," said spokesman German distributor, Klein & More.
