Microsoft implemented a long overdue makeover to its MSN Internet portal and expressed hope that the new site will attract more users to its search engine, Bing.
Microsoft removed the predominantly blue background, the piles of tiny text and menus along the top of the page, which had defined msn.com for a decade.
The new site looks more clean, simple and vivid ties lined up, but still is clearly a portal filled with blocks of headlines. Most prominent on the page is a slide show of the five most important notes, with large headlines and photographs.
Part of what appears on the MSN home page will be chosen by their editors, after searching the most important notes. They help of a new computer program that uses Bing to find the most wanted.
