The U.S. chain Barnes & Noble announced that its new digital reader, the Nook, will be released this week in the U.S..
Barnes & Noble Nook began selling through its website in October, but was forced to delay some shipments after the holidays year after seeing the exhaustion of the reserves at his disposal.
The company announced that the device will be available in stores by mid-week. Until then, the model can only be purchased online. "The Nook demand remains very high, and we are thrilled that our customers can quickly try and buy in our stores Nook besides the internet," said William Lynch, president of Barnes & Noble.com.
Barnes & Noble and several other companies including Apple, came to the digital player market to compete with the model 'Kindle' giant book sale on internet retailer Amazon and the Sony Reader.
The Nook costs $ 259 (190 euros), the same as a basic Kindle model, and has a black and white screen to read text and color to navigate. Barnes & Noble owns a chain of 775 stores in the U.S. books. Its digital library offers more than a million digital books, newspapers and magazines.
