A poor student who put New Zealand on auction her virginity to pay for their studies, said Wednesday it had accepted an offer of 45,000 local dollars (32,000 U.S. dollars) for sleeping with a stranger.

The student, 19, who offered her virginity to the highest bidder at an auction on the website ineed.co.nz, said there had been more than 1,200 deals.
"I have accepted an offer of more than $ 45,000, which is much more than I ever dreamed," the student said on their website at the end of the auction.

"With over 30,000 people who saw my ad and more than 1,200 offers made," he said.The girl, who called himself "Unigirl", was described as attractive, fit and healthy and said he never had a sexual relationship, but did not specify how he would prove it.

The student did not accept orders from the media for an interview, but the owner of the website, Ross MacKenzie, told the Waikato Times newspaper that had been authorized to commit the transaction.
